Fred Armisen on Portlandia: “We’re not lampooning Portland; we’re celebrating it”

One of the smartest, weirdest comedies on TV these days is the Fred Armisen-Carrie Brownstein collaboration Portlandia, on IFC. The show offers vignettes about life in Portland, Oregon, the progressive hipster haven home to many people we encounter on a regular basis: the aggressive bicyclist, the obnoxious locavore, the feminist bookstore owners.
