Comedy Dynamics, owner of New Wave Entertainment, that name you see on a title card before many of your favorite Netflix stand-up comedy specials, is launching its own comedy channel on Hulu and Hulu Plus beginning July 29. The channel will offer stand-up specials and behind-the-scenes footage from some of the company’s top comedians. Additionally, comedy fans will have access to specials from the ’70s, ’80s & ’90s through Comedy Dynamics Classics. “As the largest producer of high end stand-up comedy in the US, we wanted to seek out a partner that had the reach and respect we feel our artists deserve,” said president Brian Volk-Weiss, who founded the label in 2008.

The company has already produced 90 stand-up specials and over 125 comedy albums, two of which have earned Grammy nominations for Best Comedy Album. New Wave has produced specials for Bill Burr, Aziz Ansari, Jim Gaffigan, Doug Stanhope & many more. The announcement becomes yet another one for Hulu, whose comedy special offerings are slim. This library of classic and current comedy specials will give it content to attract viewers who normally resort to Netflix’s abundant comedy collection to see quality stand-up specials. The third-place streaming service made a monstrous move last week week when it announced a deal for exclusive streaming rights to the entire South Park library.
