Denis Leary’s Apostle empire has sold the idea of yet another comedy show, this time to IFC. Uncle Chubby’s is a comedy about a group of friends in their late 20s who play hockey together. They decide to take their casual play to the next level and compete for the league title in a competitive adult league. Jim Serpico and Tom Sellitti wrote the script and will executive produce alongside Leary. Leary has a lot of shows in the works right now. In addition to producing IFC’s Maron, Apostle is also behind USA Network’s Sirens and the upcoming Sex&Drugs&Rock&Roll on FX.
