On the heels of his successful HBO stand-up comedy special Love at the Store directed by Spike Lee and after months of back-and-forth, NBC has greenlighted Jerrod Carmichael’s untitled comedy pilot. Based on the fast rising Carmichael’s comedy as well as his life with his family and girlfriend, the pilot will be co-written by Carmichael and Nick Stoller, the latter of which has found massive success working on The Muppets, Muppets Most Wanted and, most recently Sex Tape starring Jason Segel and Cameron Diaz. Carmichael and Stoller will co-executive produce alongside Ravi Nandan (Playing House). This is NBC’s first official pilot pickup of the season. Filming is scheduled to begin next month in Los Angeles.
