Michael Ian Black How To Be AmazingIf there’s anyone from whom we could learn a thing or two about how to be amazing, it’s Michael Ian Black. Seems fitting that, in keeping with his own streak of unbroken amazing-ness, Black is now teaming up with the Internet’s premier audiobook hub, Audible.com, to bring fans a new interview series called – as you may already have guessed – How to be Amazing.

In even more amazing news, Audible has released the first four episodes of the series already, completely free. Making appearances (or whatever the audio version of an “appearance” is) on these initial four episodes are comedy legend and star of AMC’s new hit series Better Call Saul Bob Odenkirk; Eat, Pray, Love author Elizabeth Gilbert, Broadway lyricist Lin-Manuel Miranda, and Rookie magazine founder Tavi Gevinson. Future episodes are set to include Amy Schumer, Kevin Smith, Miranda July and notable others as featured guests.

Admittedly, we haven’t had the chance to sit down and soak up the show yet, but How to be Amazing does seem like rather an interesting departure from Black’s always-silly-rarely-serious public persona. How much, if any, of his sardonic wit he chooses to inject into the show is anybody’s guess; what we do know is that amazing things usually seem to happen when MIB shows up. Time to strap on those headphones and dive in for a listen. Let’s start with this sample from the Bob Odenkirk episode!

In other Michael Ian Black news, the comedian’s been working on a talk show with Jen Kirkman!
