Comedian and actress Yvette Wilson, best known for her character Andell Wilkerson on Moesha and its spinoff The Parkers, has lost her battle with cervical cancer. Wilson, who was also in need of a kidney transplant, was only 48 when she died yesterday.

The BET Hip Hop Awards has enlisted comedian, Hangover star and Def Comedy Jam stalwart to host its 2009 ceremony. The show will be taped on Oct. 10 at the Boisfeuillet Jones Atlanta Civic Center.
