Tool's Maynard James Keenan: sketch comedy frontman?

Tool frontman, Maynard James Keenan recently compared his latest touring show Puscifer to Saturday Night Live or Adult Swim, stating that this new live event has more in common with those two than it does with Metallica. Keenan then told the Lansing State Journal that  he was part of a comedy sketch group back in the mid-90’s around the LA area.

When asked if he has an unseen comic side Keenan replied,

“They’ve seen it, just didn’t get it. I mean, come on: ‘Stinkfist?’ If someone can’t see the humor in some of those songs, then they’re not listening or just choosing not to.”

In case you aren’t at all familiar with lyrics to songs like Stinkfist (like I also wasn’t) here is a sample:

It’s not enough.
I need more.
Nothing seems to satisfy.
I don’t want it.
I just need it.
To breathe, to feel, to know I’m alive.

Knuckle deep inside the borderline.
This may hurt a little but it’s something you’ll get used to.
Relax. Slip away.

Step aside, Weird Al, there’s a new comedy music champion on his way up.

Below is a video I found on from a Puscifer show. The song is titled Cuntry Boner. . . enjoy?
