Did the Walton family make a New Years resolution to be less cartoonishly evil or something? If so, it seems they’ve been really trying to stick by it. First, there was the announcement in February that Walmart would be raising its minimum wage for workers to at least $9 per tracy-morgan-thumbs-uphour. And now, we’ve gotten word last week that the big box conglomerate has “done right by” Tracy Morgan, who sued the corporation last year after one of its drivers crashed into his limo, critically injuring the 46-year-old comedian and killing friend and fellow stand-up James McNair. Although the details were not made publically available, it was revealed that a settlement had been reached between Morgan and Walmart. “Walmart did right by me and my family, and for my associates and their families. I am grateful that the case was resolved amicably,” Morgan said in a statement.

But, even better than knowing restitution has been made, was seeing Morgan up and about for the first time since the crash nearly claimed his life. It’s been almost a year to the day since Morgan was rendered severely brain-damaged and injured; speculation swirled that he might not ever be able to perform or act again. So it’s nothing short of miraculous to see the beloved 30 Rock star flashing the thumbs up to photographers. Keep healing, Tracy – the world needs you!
